LS with En. Zulkifli bin Yahya

The second school LS was carried out by En. Zulkifli bin Yahya. He is the senior teacher in the school and he uses this opportunity to show his experience in teaching to the observer team. His class is Form 1A which was carried out on 12th August 2011 at 9:45 - 10:20 am, and the reflection meeting was done after that at the school canteen.

The goal of this Lesson Study is to help the students identify the adjectives and to make sentences from the adjective discussed with the authentic material used.



En. Zulkifli is showing the clothes and asked the students to induce the adjectives of colour.



The students were shown the worksheet.



After the presentation, the students are to complete the worksheet given. Here they have to identify the adjectives discussed and to rewrite them into the worksheet.




Reflection meeting at the school canteen. Being impressed by all observer teachers, because En. Zulkifli took trouble to bring all the materials into the classroom in order to ensure that the students could see, feel and smell the realia.


The unique realia he brought was durian fruit, this smell strong in the classroom, and we definitely sure that this lesson will be the most memorable T&L.

Refleksi dan komen berkaitan dengan
1)Isi kandungan

Berkaitan dengan topik dalam buku teks. Pelajar dapat mena’kul daripada aktiviti yang dibuat dalam P&P untuk membuat kesimpulan tentang isu yang dibincangkan.

2) Strategi P & P
Penglibatan semua pelajar dalam aktiviti set induksi di mana semua pelajar mesti bangun dan bergerak.
Pelajar mendengar, memproses maklumat dan seterusnya menyampaikan maklumat. Strategi menggunakan semua kemahiran, mendengar, menulis, membaca dan bercakap.

3) Teknik Mengajar

Guru menimbulkan keinginan pelajar untuk terlibat dalam pengajaran dengan memasang lagu. Pelajar harus fokus kepada lagu dengan mendengar secara teliti setiap perkataan di dalam liriknya. Guru menggunakan teknik ‘direct method’ untuk mempercepatkan pelajar memahami isi kandungan dan arahan pengajaran.

4) Pengurusan Kelas

Memuaskan, semua pelajar berjaya melaksanakan semua arahan.
Kekuatan LS:
1. Semua pelajar menumpukan perhatian dalam P&P.
2. Ramai guru pencerap dapat membantu pelajar untuk melaksanakan tugasan diarahkan guru.
3. Kemenjadian P&P dapat dikesan dengan lebih baik, kerana ramai pencerap dapat membuat pemerhatian terhadap kerja murid.
Kekangan LS:
1. Sukar untuk mengumpulkan guru untuk diadakan mesyuarat rancangan pengajaran dan pelaksanaan LS dalam kelas akibat kekangan tugas-tugas lain di sekolah.
2. Guru belum terdedah dengan budaya LS di peringkat sekolah.
3. Lebih masa dan kurang tugasan lain yang perlu diberikan kepada kumpulan guru-guru yang mahu terlibat dalam LS.

Cadangan untuk mempertingkatkan Rancangan Mengajar:-
Perlu banyak melibatkan pelajar berkomunikasi atau mempraktikkan penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris semasa pengajaran.

LS with En. Mohd Asyraf - 3C

As we have decided in the school LS team that we want to practice the LS with the weakess class that each member has, the 2nd round is done by En. Mohd Asyraf bin Rosaruddin. He chose the perfect class, Form 3 C. The LS was carried out on 9th August 2011 at 9:00 - 9:40 am, and the reflection meeting was done after that.


The observation team for this LS practice for this time are also included Mr. Principal, En. Azemi bin Abu and Vice Principal, En. Zahri bin Abas. The class chosen is quite unique, there are a few students who iliterate and numbers of them are used to be in remove class. This has given a good challenge to En. Asyraf to test his skills.




The goal of this Lesson Study is to help the students identify the adjectives and to make sentences from the adjective discussed.

Observing the students' work, they need to complete the worksheet distributed. This is the gist of LS, to observe the ability of the students to acquire knowledge in classroom. This aspect couldn't be done without the help by several teachers who are observing the process.



Reflection meeting after the lesson pratice. The reflective team were quite dissappointed with the absence of Mr. Principal because he has important guest at the moment. The idea and comment by the team members has enlightened En. Asyraf of some of the basic instruction he did and he has also ammended the lesson plan accordingly.
